Not sure if BA is happy with more competition in it's routes too.
VRN and BLQ, not sure if ADB is on their 2011 summer schedule.
EZY and FR will compete on the SVQ route.
EZY and BE will compete on the ABZ route
They will also increase flights to MAD, BCN, OPO, DUS and AMS.
"EasyJet
After listening to your route suggestions, we are excited to announce SIX new routes from London Gatwick in 2011. These include direct flights to Amman in Jordan, Izmir in Turkey, Verona and Bologna in Italy, Seville in Spain and Aberdeen in Scotland! Seats go on sale today with flights operating from March 2011. We have also increased the frequency of flights to Madrid, Barcelona, Düsseldorf, Porto and Amsterdam"

SVQ is a former GT route, not sure If XRY might have been better instead of going up against FR, probably reduces the chances of Vueling flights SVQ-LGW.

Quoting kl911 (Reply 10): What type will the use on the AMM route? 320 or 319? 319 has more range hasnt it?
I expect them to use the A320. Theoretically, the A319's maximum range exceeds the A320's maximum range, but this is not the case for easyJet.
Their A319s lack the center fuel tank and use derated engines, and therefore their range is nowhere near the maximum 6,700km range published by Airbus.
Their A320s do have the center tank and higher rated engines, and are more suitable for medium-haul ops. easyJet's longer flights, like Egypt and Israel, are exclusively flown by A320s.
Quoting kl911 (Reply 10): What will be the increase to AMS? 1 daily extra?
AMS will be 5x daily during weekdays next summer, which is an increase over summer 2010, where is was 4x daily. However, the frequency already got increased to 5x daily last month, at the start of the winter 2010-2011 season, so it's not really an increase compared to the current situation.
Also, the 4x daily during the summer of 2010 was actually a reduction compared to 2009, when they also flew 5x daily. So essentially they'll just be back at their original level.

Just booked my first trip to Jordan, Thanks to easyjet, BMI has always been expensive for my budget.
This trip was only £117 with a bag / BMI £475 for exactly same trip.

Hi all!
It seems that EZY it's opening a new destination here in SCQ, on their route map now shows a flight to GVA.
No tickets on sale, but it's good news to have this service.
Hopefully more to come from EZY here in SCQ, now that FR it's closing all their international flights here.

interesting that the new route map list countries that they dont fly to yet. The old one never did.
I wonder whether flights to norway and russia could be on the cards, maybe even saudi although i imagine that would be a stretch
