Quoting washingtonian (Reply 2): Somewhat related, what is the deal with new crew uniforms? Is that on indefinite hold?
Continental's current uniforms look awful...not sure what United's look like but just as bad I'm sure. I hope they look professional and new like Delta's or Jetblue...very classy.

Last I checked, Cynthia Rowley (who was developing new PMUA crew uniforms) is now designing new UA/CO crew uniforms.
They should be out sometime next year, IIRC, but not on Customer Day One.

Nice to hear that the design of the crew uniforms is being professionally designed from scratch rather than having the CEO design some combo of the two existing uniforms together to try and make everyone happy but in the end making no one happy. And yes, I am slamming the livery decision...

I flew SAN-PHX-SAN yesterday on USAirways -- a 757 (US-259) outbound and a 321 (US-1195) inbound. The male FAs wore white long-sleeve shirts with blue striped ties and pleated blue dress slacks. The female FAs wore either a cobalt-blue chemise with a neck scarf or the long-sleeve white shirt with a neck scarf along with dark-blue pleated slacks. And the first officer on 1195 who stepped out of the cockpit to greet departing passengers resembled Peter Graves, the actor.
A very classy-looking crowd.

Most of us at CO, at least the FAs, don't have much love for the current uniforms. A change there will be welcomed.

CO uniforms are pretty bad but in regards to UA I think they were only redesigned a few years back but isn't particularly great nor bad.

The Cynthia Rowley inspired uniforms will be a welcome addition to those on the United side as well.

Jeff Smisek is the Vladamir Putin of the airline industry. A true Renaissance man. A manager, marketing guru, and, according to himself, a very good graphic designer. Perhaps he is a carpenter to boot and will be installing the counters himself.
If it doesn't make sense, it's because it's not true.

I think the current CO uniforms are sharp. The uniforms were only redesigned a few years ago. One shirt is a nice looking blue and contrasts nicely with a golden tie and looks nice with the paisley tie.
