FYI - Ice Pilots NWT Season 2 begins Wednesday Jan 12 @ 8pm ET on History Television in Canada......hopefully networks in other countries will carry it too.
I know its “Reality TV” with personal stories woven in......but that aside, last season had some great shots of vintage aircraft including a DC3 on a YZF - YHY Scheduled Service, C-46s and the great sound of those Allisons spooling up on a Lockheed L-188 Electra.

Quoting A346Dude (Reply 2): It's an interesting show without trying too hard to be overly dramatic.
As I remember it they were quite dramatic with some situations and the show could be shortend by 1/3 if they did not reuse the same footage. Besides that it was a great show.

Yeah, I agree completely. I taped the shows and lent them to my brother. He worked for an outfit something like Buffalo and his comment was that some of the "drama" was BS. We both liked the show though.
I appreciated your point about "reusing the same footage". I hate it when some TV shows give you the preview, then the commercial, then the view, and sometimes even a post-view.
I don't mean to be too critical thought. I'll be watching for Season 2 with anticipation.

One of our TV4 channels here in Sweden is showing Ice Pilots. I think it is excellent and I have watched every episode so far. I am surprised at how often irregularities occur with those older planes. I am also amazed at the professionalism at Buffalo. Nice show!!

Quoting piaflyer (Reply 15): so is there any way to watch it in the US?
I've been seeing previews for it on Discovery Channel. But since they cross advertise for History Channel all the time~
I guess I'll have to pay better attention next time I see it, to be sure which channel it'll actually be on, eh?

I now know that the commercials I've been seeing are for a different show.
"Flying Wild Alaska" starts Friday night on Discovery. Sorry for the confusion.

Anybody watch it last night?
I wasn't impressed, was sort of slow, only one event, in the past they had a few things going on at the same time... I thought they would have done better.... I will still watch but it might not win if something else better is on!
