I was visiting Laughlin Dec 26 thru 30 and noticed a Las Vegas Sands 747SP parked at KIFP terminal on Dec 27 and 28. Not sure when it departed, but noticed it was gone on Dec 29. I tried Flight Aware, but their aircraft are blocked from being tracked on the site. I wasn't aware KIFP could handle such large aircraft as I have only seen Sun Country 738's and Allegiant MD80's in there before. Anyone know from where and when it came in and departed to? I dont know which of them it was as I could not get close enough to make out the registration. Thanks for the help!

One of them was in Hong Kong yesterday, and both of them were here in the days just after Christmas.

They've previously used IFP as a place to temporarily park their a/c at, as if I recall, it's cheaper to park them long-term at IFP than at LAS.

This is true, and also there is basically no room for them here at LAS. They have recently brought the L1011's back here as well. When you have your own airforce based out of Vegas (2 747SP, 1 L1011, 1 763 and more BBJ's and gulfstreams than can be counted ramp space gets very tight for Sands.

We returned home yesterday morining from Las Vegas after spending New Years Eve on the Strip. *That was crazy!* While getting to the airport, the L-1011 was parked right there. Then while while making our way to our Southwest gate, I spied the 767 sitting out on the tarmac. Those are two beautiful planes.

I've got things to see and people to do.

All of the aircraft except for the 763 are used for "company operations" a.k.a. the high rollers. The 763 however is Sheldon Adelson's private aircraft.

One of the L1011's is currently on A20 (closed gate), the 763 is on holding pad 1, while the 747s and Biz Fleet are over on the west side of the field.

These a/c will not show up on flightaware. They don't want people knowing where the high rollers are going I guess. We get a lot of MGM BBJ's in SFO and they don't even show on our radar system, only a transponder code.
