I was looking at Lufthansa's website to see their American destinations.

As expected, all the big guys:

Atlanta
Boston
New York
Washington
LA
SF
Denver
Miami
and others

But then I saw Wichita Mid-Continent. Can somebody please explain?

Here is the link. You will see a pull-down menu.

No they codeshare with Star Alliance partner UA to Wichita along with dozens of other destinations. You see LH flight numbers, but will only see UA aircraft.

Mid-Continent means you will fly 2 code-share carriers thru 1 major international airport to final destination.

Topic: Lufthansa Flies To...WICHITA!?
Lufthansa will fly to Wichita with their codeshared airlines. Lufthansa will take u to nearby international airport and connect with their alliance carrier. (Lufthansa/United)

*******************
For Example....

Japan Airlines flies to New Orleans, They will fly to Dallas/Fort Worth International, connecting with American to New Orleans... (Japan/American)

Hi there,
This is a shamefull error of spelling as well
of grammar. Flies is the plural of a fly as in
"housefly". You sure mean Lufthansa "flys"
and not "flies".
Kindest regards.
Advancedkid
ps. Question: Is English your native language??

No, quite incorrect. 'Flys' is not a word. 'Flies' is correct pluralization for the insect, and also correct 3rd person present tense for the action verb.

Why does this happen every time someone decides to take the piss out of someone else for their spelling and grammar?

I have a question for you Advancedkid, if I may? At which substandard scholastic institution did you learn the intricacies of the English language?

Number 1

The word is spelt shameful; with only ONE "l", not two.

Number 2

It is not "...of spelling as well
of grammar.", rather it is proper grammar to say, or write, "...of spelling as well as grammar." What you wrote above does not make sense when using proper English.

Number 3

It is not written as "You sure mean Lufthansa....". It is proper English to say or write "Surely you mean Lufthansa...."

Number 4

The word is "flies" when one is talking about flying.

n. pl. flies The act of flying; flight.

Number 5

I noticed that after "Kindest regards" you used a full-stop. A full-stop is used in English to mark the end of a sentence. To put it simply, a sentence requires the use of at least one finite verb. In "Warmest regards", there is no finite verb, therefore the use of the full-stop to close the statement is unwarranted.

Number 6

It is proper English, when using PS, for it to be written in capital letters. It is acceptable to write it as P.S. or PS. Never, and I repeat, never, as ps.

Not so Advanced after all, are we?  Insane

not-so-'Advancedkid'
you better be a wind-up - if not, a sad example of educational level (looking at the age in your profile, you would have completed high school)
