Does Delta have additional 737-732s on order and/or option beyond the 10 currently in service? If so how many and what are the projected delivery dates?

No 73Gs are presently on order. However, Delta has several options for 737NGs (not for any specific variant).

They ordered the 10 for extreme performance for short fields like Orange County and Tegucigalpa. They have the highest thrust and highest braking of the 737NGs. Those planes are hot rods and have better performance than a 757.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Nope. They are, and will almost certainly remain, a specialized subfleet for use on routes that need the performance. For most other routes, the 737-800 can provide more revenue potential at a relatively low jump in trip cost.

I believe DL uses the -700 from time to time on some ATL-MEX flights.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).
