25/06/01 UAE: UAE EMIRATES AIRLINES TO BE FIRST CUSTOMER OF BOEING SONIC CRUISER.
The UAE Emirates Airlines will be the first air-carrier to buy U.S. plane maker Boeing's Sonic Cruiser after its launch scheduled for 2007, Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and chief executive officer Alan Mullaly said. An Emirates Airlines delegation visited the Boeing factory in Seattle, USA, to discuss cooperation opportunities. The new cruiser will fly just under the speed of sound, which will cut flight time from Dubai to London by one hour.
