Hey All--

Looks like the contract for the EAS bids for the midwest, mostly for travel to/from STL is being renegotiated again, and Cape Air has submitted the first one for CGI.

Here is news article for CGI Airport via Cape Air's.

http://www.semissourian.com/story/1698201.html

Cape Air is now proposing to increase from 4 daily to 6 daily round trip from CGI-STL, extend the contract to 4 years as well as include a city ticket office and also plans to provide an interterminal shuttle, which would create "seamless connections" between terminals without requiring passengers to re-clear security.

This is the proposal out of CGI, I am hoping to see similair ones for MWA, UIN, TBN and IRK as well.

I can't really speak for my area, MWA, but I have used Cape Air 16 times, when having to travel, it is so much better, and faster than driving to STL, and with cheap 49 one way (29 one way on off peak times) just makes it a no brainer.

Air Choice One is supposed to propose an idea soon as well, curious to hear what other airlines may propose for the midwest region out of STL.

*Please note, I do not want any EAS bashing topics, if you do not support it then create a topic for it, this is simply to discuss the idea and future of possible airline service out of the region.

All of the bids and other information relating to EAS cities is publicly available at Regulations.gov, just search for your city and filter by DOT and you can find your cities docket number.

Here is the file for CGI: http://www.regulations.gov/#!docketD...ostedDate;po=0;D=DOT-OST-1996-1559

I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

Wish Cape Air performed the EAS for DEC instead of Air Choice One.

Is Cape Air proposing any code sharing with any majors (AA)? Do/will they have interline agreements with any majors out of STL?

Right now AA/9K code-share out of STL, and reservations can be booked on AA.com or calling AA or 9K directly.

As for interline they interline with most of the airlines except WN and I think AS? Not sure.

Thanks so much! I will definitely review them all!

Excellent news! I just booked some Travel to STL and got a car since the 9K schedule left me with some significant layovers on a weekend trip (I know, a normal a.nutter would love to spend 4 hours at the airport!   ). Good to hear that some one is having success at CGI. Hopefully, they are doing the same at MWA.

Hey!

If you look at the document proposal by Cape Air, they are reporting higher numbers for MWA.

I just read all of the documents for Air Choice One and Cape Air, I was BLOWN away by how many passengers MWA-STL was seeing, it looked around average 900 folks a MONTH? Seeing MWA-STL highest record was in December alone...1,381! I think Great Lakes carried that in the YEAR LOL The Code-Sharing has got to be helping! Also, I took the figure of 1,381 passengers for December, divide it by 30 days, averages 46 passengers a day, 9K flies 48 seats a day (6 flights times 8 seats(co pilot side is blocked) comes out to 46 divided by 48..that means Cape Air is FULL out of Marion.

To continue...

MWA-STL reported 76% load factor from November 2009-Dec 2010. The average monthly load factor was 1,095 passengers out of a capacity of 1,440 a month.
