I know DL meant flights operating to/from airports in the DC to Boston corridor, but the article reads like DL operates at least 575 flights between DC and Boston and cancelled them.
And not to be outdone, apparently AA has quite the presence in the market:
"American Airlines/American Eagle spokesman Ed Martelle said the two airlines cancelled 280 flights for Wednesday and 65 more are cancelled for Thursday between Washington, D.C., and Boston."

Assuming a flight schedule evenly spread from 0600 to 0000 and 287 flights in each direction, that works out to about 16 departures in each direction per hour, or one departure every 3 minutes and 45 seconds.

Very impressive.
Oh you're on the 3:17 departure to BOS, that'll be a $50 same-day confirmed fee to get on the 3:14 flight.

Hate to say it, but the way I read this from the beginning was the actual intent - they canceled 575 in cities from Washington to Boston.

I thought AA gave all their slots to B6? They don't fly anywhere in Washington (DCA, IAD, or BWI) to BOS!
