Looks like it was a 727-200 and it skirted the storm all the way down to MIA and crossed the squall line prior to final approach.

LOL, that wouldn't do anything and I don't even think that there is a button that releases the masks.

There are very good reasons as to why there are no buttons for passengers to push to drop the masks...6 year olds and this guy...
