Does anyone know what's going on with Volaris at MDW? I haven't heard much since they launched the route, and I just tried to search for flight on their website, but it says no flights available. Have they pulled out already? Anyone know how the loads are/were and what gate they used?

Quoting fghtngsiouxatc (Thread starter):

The GDL-MDW flights have run into a small hiccup. The FAA has temporarily suspended the route for Volaris. Volaris didn't have necessary equipment/proper certification for deicing. The airline hasn't pulled out of the airport.

I sent a message to Volaris regarding the flights and they said for the time being tickets are not being sold and would be placed for purchase soon. The route will be running as normal once they get that little mess figured out.

Mexicana757, thanks for the response! Did they give you a time line as to when they would resume flights? Did they ever actually fly the route, maybe for a couple of weeks?

No time line was given for when they would resume flights. They did fly the route. The route was started December 13 and it flew for several weeks. The flight is still showing up on the MDW/ORD website.

I assume they will be back by spring or as soon as they can get everything sorted out. I'm sure they have plenty of ticket holders who won't be happy to find out there are no GDL flights.
