Yesterday driving home I saw an Pullmantur Air Boeing 747-400 landing at Miami International Airport. When I got home I went online and did not find anything at Flightaware but at the Miami International Airport live flight information site it was listed as Pullmantur Air flight 7020 from MXP . This morning (Jan 31 2011) when I drove to work by LeJeune Road I saw it sitting right very close to the street at the east side of the airport off Le Jeune Road!!! Anyone knows who is Pullmantur Air flying to Miami and is this a one time only charter or is going to be a common site at MIA. Any information will greatly appreciated!!!

They do a lot of cruise ship traffic, maybe it's connected with that?

It could also be at MIA to get re-painted. That may be the location when there isn't enough room at the AAR maintenance hangars.

I thought that too, but I checked and there was not a Pullmantur Cruise going out of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, at least according to their site!!!

I do not think that is the case, because it was listed in the arrival board of the airport and it had a gate assigned at Concourse E. I would say that is parked there waiting for the crew to complete their resting period before heading back to Europe!

My guess would be a block of cabins on a Costa cruise is what this was for?

Makes sense.

Pullmantur is owned by Royal Caribbean though, so its likely they use they would use their own charter planes to ferry in cruise passengers.

Oh I did not know that!!! That makes perfect sense, there is a ton of Royal Caribbean cruises going out of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale!! Anyways the important thing is that red tail Boeing 747-400 resting at MIA today! I love the " ñ "on the tail

Yes - they're red branding is eye catching! They've been owned by RCCL since 2006, and in fact a couple of the older ships are now on the Pullmantur fleet. AFAIK they are in the process of winding down the air charter business over the mid to long term to focus on the cruise side.

I saw a 747 Pullmantours parked at CDG2A last friday (28/01) around 8pm. I was taxiing to the runway and saw this red jumbo with an unknown tail logo. In the dark, I managed to read Pullmantours on the fuselage and I was wondering who they were since I never heard before about them. Now, thanks to this thread, I know.
Maybe they were heading to MIA ?

Could be but not sure, the one I saw landing on Sunday was coming from (MXP) according to the Miami International Airport flight information board.

To my surprise, today Feb 1st I drove south bound on Le Jeune Road and there was not one but two Boeing 747-400's of Pullmantur Air parked at MIA near the AA Maintenance Hangar !!!

Kind of off topic, but worth mentioning:

Flightaware shows a Qantas 744 on its way from Anchorage to Miami and is scheduled on to Chicago. QFA7531

The Pullmantur boys are going back to Europe tonight. On my morning strolling through the MIA Terminal I noticed several check-in counters in the Central Terminal between Concourse G and H showing the Pullmantur logo on the screens saying that check-in will start at 3:30pm, so I assume the flights are going out this evening! No destination posted yet!!

Already listed at MIA's website. The flights are going to MXP and FCO. Both will depart at 20:30 from F14 and F17.
