If memory serves me well, "Ed" is the Iron Maiden "representative" so to speak (the skeleton on their logo). Ed Force One is the aircraft they lease to do their world tour. A simple search on the internet will also give you the answer I assume.

Quoting fcogafa (Reply 8): There is a great movie following the tour called 'Flight 666'. Airplanes and rock, can't beat it!
Flight 666 is one of the best documentaries I have seen in recent years. It gives a great look at how the band works behind the scenes, their "soft" sides away from the stage and features great shots of the aircraft. And it's fun to see Dickenson get off the plane in his pilot's uniform and then show up in his heavy metal outfit in the next scene.
In the documentary, they explain that the idea behind using their own 757 for the tour is to enable them to go to places that otherwise would never be feasable for them. They wanted to go to places that normally never would be able to see Iron Maiden concerts live. In Europe and to some extend America, Iron Maiden concerts outside the World Tour are not uncommon, so they skipped them.
Quoting spacemanuk (Reply 4): I saw this bird parked up at STN outside Harrods Aviation last night. Its the first time ive seen it. LOOKING GOOD !
Is it the same aircraft they used for their last tour? If yes, is it the same paint job as last time or did they change it up? I know Astraeus change the plane back to their livery after the tour and if memory serves me right, it then went back into service to serve flights to Mecca.

I agree that the 666 Documentary was AMAZING! I'm not really a Maiden fan either, but behind the scenes docus like that are always interesting, and a metal band lead singer/757 pilot is something you won't see anywhere else, especially with Bruce's personality.

Based on the other thread, it looks like the livery has been altered with a new tail scheme.

As i am a great "Maiden Fan" and met the drummer many years ago at a party,i was gutted to find out that Ed Force One had been circling around my works in Clacton,UK and the bay area for about an hour on a photo-shoot on Tuesday. The few guys at work who did see it,didnt really know what they were seeing, especially the jet provost buzzing around it.
Im still yet to catch a glimpse anywhere.Maybe one-day
