Does anyone know the current status of D-CXXX? I know she crashed in June of 2010, but is she being restored, stored, or scrapped? From the looks of the photo below, she'll need a whole new right wing, but surely worse wrecks have found their way back into the sky.

I did a little poking about, and I found and article on the crash that is written in German. Anyway the following quote is the final paragraph of the article, and though I dont speak much German, I think that their saying it won't be repaired. Correct me if I'm wrong.

"Beim Aufprall auf den Boden brach u.a. die rechte Tragfäche ab. Insgesamt wurde der mit viel Aufwahd hergerichtete "Rosinenbomber" bei der Bruchlandung so schwer beschädigt, dass der Eigentümer und Betreiber Air Service Berlin nicvht daran glaubt, die Maschine noch einmal reparieren zu können."

D-CXXX will be restored according to Berlin Airports. The fuselage will be transported to Köln and the repair work will begin this April. "The restoration costs for the Candy Bomber will mainly be defined by the sourcing of spare parts and the approval procedures we are initiating at the German federal aviation authorities."

My "German sources" also confirmed that the aircraft will be restored by Nayak Aircraft Services at Cologne/Bonn Airport.

That's actually really quite cheap considering how bad it looks.

I'm glad to hear that. That right wing looks pretty bad. Hope to see her in the skys soon.
