Hi all, just a quick question im sure many can answer. I have just seen the back half of what I think is an A320 , but I cant see the reg but am wondering what airline this is as I have never seen seen it at LHR? It is a red tail with 4 white squares on it, this is also replicated on the winglets.
Many thanks
Tony

It sounds very much like Privatair, but they only have winglets on their 737's & 757's.

I presume it was a Privatair 752 you saw. The description of the livery is definitely PrivatAir, and probably a 757 is more easily mistaken for an A320 from the back than a 737.. Plus the're a few recent pictures in the database of a PrivatAir 757. @ LHR. They used to operate the A319 as well but as pointed out above they don't have winglets and AFAIK they're no longer in service.

Interesting your eye would catch "4 white squares" and not the Swiss flag depicted on the tail. Sort of an optical illusion like the FedEx "arrow"...some see it, some don't.

Interesting indeed, and a nice little study on how your brain processes what you see! The original poster, not knowing he saw something related to Switserland, only identified the four squares (which, strictly speaking, is what it is) While others, knowing it's a Swiss aircraft they're looking at, will immediately recognize the Swiss flag pattern.

I did actually self diagnose this problem, but only after having a good look at some pics on here and their website investigate WHO they are.
Its one of those optical illusions isnt it! Just using colours you can change the vision. But thats a bit off topic haha

Strange that some of you are seeing the swiss flag! Probably as said just because you know it's a swiss airline! Just to clarify, the swiss flag has the same color but on the opposite. Red flag with a white cross. On the private air tail, it's a white square with a red cross.

Could you post an example picture where one might see this? I have no idea what you're talking about.

Use Google to see an example the FedEx logo and look closely at the white space between the "E" and the "x".

You know, that is very interesting. It IS the reverse Swiss flag. Probably a case of "seeing what one expects to see" and not what is really there. A anti-optical illusion? Good catch.

I'm not checked out on posting pics here. Perhaps someone else can post a FedEx logo and you will see the arrow between the "E" and "x"...or not.

Concentrate on the area between the E and x.... just keep looking at the white area between the 2 letters and forget about everything else... you will see the arrow.... the entire white region between the 2 letters is the arrow!

On the B767 it was blue/white, so definitely NOT a Swiss flag...
