According to current bilateral agreement MEA has 10 or 11 frequencies to Germany and is only allowed to serve 2 destinations.
With the daily FRA remaining a constant they have tried to maximize use of the other destination and frequencies; shifting from CGN to SXF then DUS. I guess this practice is not very good for building customer loyalty in those cities.
MEA should stick to its choice and operate year round to whichever city they finally choose.
A year round CPH service would also make sense on the smaller A320 instead of the usual A330 service in summer.

Düsseldorf is a nice place and I would guess it is cheaper to operate then Berlin. When we Germans were evacuated from Lebanon in 2006, the charter plane took us from Damascus and landed in Düsseldorf.

It may well be after a few years flying to a few destinations in Germany, MEA figured that it can make the most money on DUS (among DUS, CGN and BER).
But either way, it's nice to see MEA trying to maximize its revenue/profit. I hope that Germania airlines add more flights to its BER-BEY route this summer (or better yet, Air Berlin starting a new route) to fill the void with MEA existing the market
