Are there express operators swapping between CO/UA already? Arriving in ATL tonight I noticed a o/c UAX CRJ-200 on the CO "D" gates in ATL. Is there some swapping going on already?

Not sure if it has been decided, but curious if this means UA is planning on swapping D gates for the T gates with DL...

DL will definitely not give up their T gates, as they are capable of handling 767s, which the D gates cannot. During peak hours, DL very frequently uses Concourse T for international 767 departures when there are no available gates in Concourse E.

He means the other way around. DL getting UA's T gates.

Maybe but its more likely they are just using it because the UAX gates are full or its a CO route (ie EWR/CLE or IAH)

But just a note, Delta wouldn't give UA any of its D gates, CO's gates plus a CUTE gate or two can handle the new UA's opps easy.

yep.

UA Express/Skywest is operating flights as CoEx already. Probably what you saw.

Seen many a SkyWest CR7s operating out of the Conti gates on D. Shouldn't be a huge surprise. If they really need the space, they will send the a/c down there.
