DOH - TBS 2 weekly A32S

Thanks for the info. Whats TBS? Im wondering the downgrade in TUN is because of the political situation there?

BTW, do you know when QR is going to recieve new aircraft? So far, there has not been a single delievery in 2011 and were already ending the second month! Not even an A320.

TBS is Tbilisi in Georgia.

Am very surprised to see MHD still being flown only 5 times per week for a while.

It seems MAN is being increased to double daily from 1st June. Both flights operated with A332's.

WHAT? How do you know?

I know perhaps this MIGHT be true since ALL my flights to LGW were not even close to full.

Not sure they are that excited about the Australian market at this stage. It hasnt exactly been a stellar start, with MEL said to be doing ok, but definately could be doing better.

PER should definately be their next move if they are going to expand into Australia. That gives them West and East Coast coverage. Given the QR CEO's comments about the SYD market a while back, I wouldnt them to make a move into that market anytime soon either.

Yes it is 100% officially confirmed now. DOH-MAN is being increased to double daily A 332s effective June 1st. Flights will depart DOH at 0150 and 0745 on a daily basis each respectively.

LGW though still shows up on the system though it is indeed one of QR's worst performing long haul routes.

Its about time MAN gets a frequency upgrade. As for LGW, they should drop the route altogether and add an additional LHR flight or Birmingham.

Still strange no Iraq flights as of yet. Maybe soon, who knows.

It's fantastic news for MAN to get the upgrade to double daily. The loads are very positive on the current flight and I'm sure the new flight will prove to be a sucess too.

Its less of a risk for QR to add additional capacity than start a new route altogether!

Also QR state the second daily service is to offer further connections for flights which do not co-inside with the current MAN-DOH service.

I think in many respects this is true, as if QR could maintain a single daily service to MAN they would but deploy larger equipement like a 77W or 346 on the route!

I think many of the Middle Eastern airlines are afraid to go near BHX, with EK having such a dominance at the airport. Especially since they recently increased capacity there with 2x 77W services a day.

I dont think so. QR lacks the aircraft to further add new destinations and increase flight capacities. They are waiting for the 787 which were supposed to be here last year as well as add the rest of the 777's.

Mark my words: QR will order more 77W soon and possibly get an early delievery on them.

QR desparately needs to add Ireland to its network to have a footprint in all corners of Europe, East and West.

I heard that QR has the rights to fly daily to DUR - any chance they might actually take these up any time soon, or will they leave the only long-haul flight from DUR to EK?

The bilaterals with South Africa was just recently revised wherein they have 28 weekly flights; 14 weekly to JNB, 7 weekly each to DUR and CPT. At the moment QR has 7 weekly flights to JNB of which 4 continue onwards to CPT.

Exactly - any chance they may take them up? Or at least a tag on with the existing 3 that don't continue to CPT?

QR 77L's at FRA? Hmmm, worth considering routing through FRA instead of MUC. Great planes!
