Easyjet has just announced it will inaugurate three new routes from Edinburgh: Athens, Tenerife and Grenoble. Start date will be next September. There will also be a new Aberdeen to LGW service by Easyjet.
Good news for Scotland.

Great news for expansion at EDI, guessing GNB will be a seasonal winter ski flight, maybe a W pattern like the BHX-GNB service

As for Tenerfie, can the A319s do that? Im not sure they can so maybe EDI will see an EZY A320 perhaps

Great news for EDI! I'm sure EDI-TFS will be operated by the A320! Same perhaps for the ATH route!

Yay... more boring buses!
Wish someone would start flying in with some different metal!

Seriously though, great news for EDI!

It is; as far as I know, this is the first time a city outside LON or MAN has been linked to Athens.

September is an unusual time to start Athens, as it is usually a very seasonal route.

EDI-PFO is done at the moment with an A320 from LGW. So I presume one or two will be permantly based there in the future.

It is just a little bit late, but I went to Athens last October and plenty of British Tourists about, both in Athens and the islands, and weather was very good! Maybe they will cater for some VFR traffic too...

Is this aircraft based in BFS or part of a W routing?

Not much news for GLA today, although one A319 will be replaced with an A320, presumably to take more 'weegies to the sunshine, perhaps will also show up in BFS (a GLA-BFS roundtrip precedes the weekday mid-morning 09:20ish departure to a European destination).

OK, I stand corrected. I'm also wondering now whether Duo or Maersk ever flew to ATH from BHX (going totally off-topic!)

How does that work? Does the aircraft operate LGW-PFO-LGW-EDI, nightstop in EDI, then fly out to PFO?

Next flights: LGW-LBA-LGW, LHR-SIN-SYD, SYD-BKK-LHR, LGW-GRO, GRO-CIA, CIA-MAD, MAD-LGW

Operates LGW-EDI-PFO-EDI nightstops then does EDI-LGW.

That makes sense. Do EDI crew operate the EDI-PFO-EDI sectors? I assume LGW crew operate LGW-EDI, nightstop in EDI, then return to LGW.

Yes and LGW crew take the A320 up to EDI in the morning then do an a/c swap and the same goes for the EDI crew who bring the A320 back down to LGW the following morning.

Ahhhhh.Okay. I am sensing it is not going well.

I will never understand why they never got a rail line into the airport to feed the city and to go north over the bridge?
