Hello fellow Airliners.net fans,
Please pardon the terrible 'cell phone' quality of the following pictures. I just wanted to share that February's last day brought the New Alaska/Horizon Q-400 to LAX today!! She was surrounded by fellow nerds... I mean, Airliner fanatics, taking pictures.
In my personal opinion, they should bring a Retro Horizon Q-400 before the whole fleet gets repainted.

Quoting flyPBA (Reply 3): Horizon has stated that they will not paint a retro-prop in their original colorscheme because of lack of brand-recognition and other reasons.
It really is too bad, a retro Q400 would have looked incredible! I was dearly hoping that N434MK would receive this treatment.
Quoting BoeingGuy (Reply 2): Will they also keep the Horizon 25th Anniversary paint on that airplane? That wasn't mentioned.
I am so sad to say, that it has been confirmed by QX that the 25th Anniversary Q400 or "Skittles" will be repainted. Unfortunately, I can see their reasoning on this, as their 30th anniversary is upon them.
So a 25th anniversary plane would behardly relevant. Still, it is one of my favorite paint schemes of all time, and it will be tragic to see it go.

Quoting jcgideon (Reply 6): If what flyPBA writes is true, that would be too sad.
Yes, sadly, this is true. Though I wonder if maybe, someday down the road. Maybe they will change their minds about this when they have more time to establish that the Horizon brand is gone. It might be too soon, and I can see how it would confuse costumers as this just happened. I have no idea what the likeliness of this ever happening is, though.
