Wizz Air have today announced they will be opening another base, this time it will be Târgu Mureş in Romania, where they will initially base one A320...
They originally announced a few months ago that they would be commencing 3x weekly flights from Luton to Târgu Mureş, which would be operated as a W route from another Wizz Air base, and these flights are due to commence at the end of this month...
From the 18th June they will also commence flights to:
Barcelona
Rome Fiumicino
Paris Beauvais
Milan Bergamo
Madrid
Dortmund
Bologna Forli
All the above flights will operate 2-3 times a week and the Luton service will be increased to 4 rotations a week.
Wizz Air must be confident of the Romanian market, as they already have a larger base 100km up the road at Cluj-Napoca and fly to all the above destinations from here too, as well as a number of others.

Sweet, Wizz has become my favorite EU airline, flying to PRG and BUD often with them from EIN. A bit of a shame they dont have flights to this new base from EIN, but DTM is fine as well, just 4 hours by train from GRQ.
Legroom and service really keeps on surprising me with Wizz, keep up the good work!

With CLJ being very close one of the bases will have to go soon. Since CLJ is a bigger city I would say CLJ will stay.
