There are rumours here in the Seychelles that HM has done a deal with BA and a BA 767-300 has already been painted in HM colours ready for delivery. Can Anyone at BA Tech confirm this? I believe its at LHR?

BA currently hold the contract to service HM's aircraft whilst they are at LHR. So it is not unusual to see a HM 767 in the BA engineering area at LHR

BA only have 2 767's out of service at the current time.

G-BNWC - This aircraft has not flown since it arrived on 14th Feb from YUL.
G-BNWN - This aircraft has been at BA Engineering in CWL since 08th March where is undergoing routine maintainance . It is due to return to service around the 15th March

If the rumour is true then it looks like G-BNWC could be on it's way to HM.

thanks for the info. It seems that they are returning the two 767-200 soon and may replace it with the -300. The -200 were not utilised much compared to the -300's.

I heard that they were getting an Ex-China Eastern 767-300. Maybe someone heard that they were about to get a Rolls Royce powered 767 and just assumed it was ex-BA?

Could also be ex-BA with QF with RR engines and that BA will provide the tech support.

the thing is that I have also heard that the plane has already been painted in HM colours. There has been some major changes in he management of the airline locally. Not sure what will happen now.

The 767-336's transferred from BA to QF are all still in service with QF.

B-2568, B-2569, B-5100 are the registrations of the China Eastern 767's powered by RR engines. All 3 aircraft are still in service.

Actually B-2569 has already been withdrawn from use and will shortly start a new life with Mongolian Airlines. Not too sure about the other two 763s but maybe they have been withdrawn already too.

So more than likely the frame will be from china eastern. BAs 767s won't be going anywhere until the 787s start to arrive and even then 14 of the 21 are staying.

And far from retirement due to the B787 rolling delays...

It is worth noting that BA have given HM a 767 for her world tour a few years ago. It came back into the fleet a few months later.

I would imagine that it is just in the hanger. Another BA 767 was out of service for a few months late last year but is back flying now.

Lol...HM is in her maj! HM's not just for the B767. It's the airline's IATA code since the early 70s. Maybe that's why HM001 / 002 has always been assigned as the London flight number.
