there is a rumour in Brazil that LATAM (TAM) is trying to buy a stake in brazilian regional TRIP, in portuguese:

translating, TAM oficially says that is only trying to expand the code-share agreement with TAM, but the rumour is that TAM can buy the Skywest 20% stake in TRIP.

Not sure what happened to the last post , it looked ok in preview - it seems that the link ( from the online WSJ ) stuffs up the post .

Shares in Brazilian airline TAM SA (TAM, TAMM4.BR) fell 0.8% to $20.79 and Chile's flagship carrier LAN Airlines SA (LFL, LAN.SN) declined 1.1% to $26.17. Latam Airlines, the company resulting from the merger of TAM and LAN, is planning to buy a stake of up to 30% in Brazil's small airline TRIP Linhas Areas, local newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo reported in its Monday edition.
