Surprised I got home from work and this wasn't posted. Tonight PR104 arrived and was directed to the east side of the airport and eventually deplaned via stairs. As I worked in the Ramp Tower I watched this unfold with tower obviously just calling it a "security issue". None the less, it made for an eventful evening requiring 19L/R use most of the evening. Here is the article from the local paper.

"San Francisco police with bomb-sniffing dogs are inspecting the cargo of a Philippine Airlines flight that landed at San Francisco International Airport after what a police spokesman terms an "unsubstantiated threat" was called in to the airline's cargo office around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Sgt. Michael Rodriguez says after the call came in, airline officials contacted San Francisco police at the department's airport bureau.

When Flight No. 104, from Manila to San Francisco, landed around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday it was met by authorities and taken to a remote part of the airport.

The 337 passengers and 20 crew aboard were taken off the plane, while police and federal officials began inspecting the plane's luggage.

Rodriguez did not specify what the caller said when the threat was made. He did not know how long it would take to inspect all the cargo."

No worries. I couldn't post as it was happening since I was working as well.

They finally towed the plane to A-7 around 11pm and reopened 10L.
