A report being released tomorrow will set out various things to be done to keep LHR open during bad weather. Hopefully they will indeed learn from the numerous mistakes made last Winter.


Exclusive: Report Castigates BAA Over Heathrow Chaos

The inquiry, chaired by Professor David Begg, a BAA non-executive director, will make 14 recommendations regarding the company’s future preparedness for inclement weather conditions, including: ensuring the availability of sufficient snow-clearing equipment and agreeing in advance with other stakeholders a plan for dealing with heavy snow

Indeed around 4000 flights were cancelled and it was unacceptable. They need to make sure they are prepared and if not they should be fined a substantial amount and not just a token slap on the wrist.
