As of today the BA 207 LHR-MIA has moved to a later dep time of 11:05 (from 0940) !!!
arriving MIA at 1515.
This flight has always been what BA calls a Focus flight meaning extra attention is paid
to it in order to get it out on time and into MIA before its competitors.
As an employee of BA i cant find a reason for this change believe it or not!!!
My first thought was that maybe too many connecting pax are missing the flight???
Anyone else able to shed some light on it??

Quiet a few flights have had some time changes, that happens sometimes in the Summer Sched. Might be something to do with the JFK flight changes maybe?

Have you not heard of the new joint venture with American Airlines? AA's LHR-MIA flight has been moved forward to depart at 09:50, replacing the BA flight. BA/AA will share all profits on each others flights so it does not matter which carrier operates the flight.

Yeah of course didnt think of that!!!!!

When you say "replacing the BA flight" makes it sound like BA are dropping it which they aren't, their still 2x daily.
Sounds like their just spreading the flights out a bit between them to save the BA and AA ones going out on top of each other??

I see DL operates LHR-MIA at 0940 as of this week , might have some bearing on it??

Yes, BA will still have 2x daily - I was specifically talking about the early morning LHR-MIA flight, and pointing out that BA customers still have that option using AA instead.

In all overlapping markets, the AA and BA flights have been integrated to provide a single schedule, maximising travel options for customers. As you said, the main aim of the re-timing is to spread out departures more evenly through the day.

The choice of which flights are operated by AA and BA has been determined based on many factors including which carrier offers the most appropriate capacity (eg. BA uses bigger planes so tends to operate peak-time departures) and to keep lay-overs to a minimum for both carriers (eg. AA's total LHR ground time will be substantially reduced).
Also, flights optimised for connections at LHR tend to be operated by BA because these all use T5, while flights optimised for connections in the USA tend to be operated by AA since these use AA's terminals (eg. T8 at JFK).

Think it makes perfect sense, as the situation now is:

DL 261 9:40 AM 3:05 PM 764
AA 57 9:50 AM 2:35 PM 777
BA 207 11:05 AM 3:15 PM 744
VS 5 11:50 AM 4:20 PM 346
BA 209 1:35 PM 5:45 PM 744

From a AA/BA perspective, this is a better timing as their departures are now 0950/1105/1335, whereas before they were 0940/0950/1335.

Plus, I've only taken BA 207 three times but it's always been late for 45+ minutes on departure.

A number of US services have seen changes in STD as a result of the JBA with AA/IB, with the aim of providing a better schedule and more choices for customers.

Oh bugger! That was such a pleasant time to depart. Oh well, 11:05 it is.

The article below in Business Traveller magazine gives a good overview of the changes to AA/BA's transatlantic schedules - including diagrams showing the spread of flights throughout the day:
