I was thinking exactly the same.

I saw a report yesterday saying that the Air India 787 will be flown soon, and delivered later this year. But no mention of the RAM aircraft that have been sitting there for a long time.

Damn I hope it doesn't get delayed further. I was planning on going to Marocco when RAM start flying with these, just to have chance on flying the 787.

Any word on possiblle routes yet btw?

From what All Things 787 is projecting, it sounds like NH, JL, AI and CZ will be the airlines receiving 787s in 2011 (with the bulk for NH, I guess), so AT may not be expecting their first bird until Q1 2012 and therefore it's not time to prepare it for flight.

AT looks to be the 19th customer to sign a purchase contract with Boeing, so not exactly "first", even though they were originally tasked to receive ZA005 and ZA006. So it's possible that AT's delivery position (likely Q1 2012) is one they may have desired or some of their later frames have been moved up to cover ZA005 and ZA006, which they would have needed to wait for to be refurbished once they left the test program (assuming those were their first two scheduled deliveries, of course).
