PH-PBA Latest Livery Design Match With PH-BXA

DDA Classic Airlines, a Dutch association which preserves and operates classic aircraft, associated with the Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome in Lelystad and with KLM as its main sponsor has repainted their C47-A Skytrain (DC3-A) in a less classic KLM scheme than the PH-PBA flew before. The PBA bears the name of Princess Amalia, first grand child of H.M. Queen Beatrix. This latest KLM retro livery is the same as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is operating now with their Boeing 737-800, reg. PH-BXA. This KLM logo and livery design with the diagonal dark and light blue striping and red KLM titles originates from 1958 and was designed by the Chicago based ad agency Erwin Wasey, Ruthrauff & Ryan.

Is this latest PH-PBA livery painted on purpose and upon request of KLM to have a uniform KLM retro scheme presentation?

the PBA is repainted on request of KLM and the work is done by the KLM Decoration team.
the other 'PH-PBA' F-AZTE and the PBA were both painted in a retro KLM on the left and a retro AF on the right side.
Both our now repainted in respectively full retro AF and full retro KLM colours.

The current retro PBA scheme comes close to the current KLM house style colours; blue white and orange.
The purpose was not to line up the scheme with the 737.
There are only so many retro schemes KLM could choose from, and they wanted a livery which was applied to a DC-3 in reality. From the ones they could choose from, this was the one most different from the previous PBA livery.

DDA Classic Airlines has changed its sight seeing flighs slightly and will try to give more of a Experience than merely looking outside to the Dutch Bulb fields.
They are also looking in to visiting some airshows they haven't visited yet or lately.

The official start of the flying season is at May 1st.

The KLM livery, as displayed on PH-PBA and PH-BXA, is the best ever on a KLM plane IMHO !!!

Looks very 'modern'...
