What do you think is the best special colour scheme released by an airline on a particular aircraft? Please include the airline, aircraft type, registration and purpose of the colour scheme, and be sure to include a photo or two of your choice showing the special scheme.
Lets see what we can come up with!

I think that Gulf Air's A340-300,
reg. A40-LD 50th anniversary celibrations colour scheme is the most beautiful colour scheme of all. What do you think?

Cheers,

Gulf Air.

First of all, welcome to the forum GulfAir and for posting your first thread.

Well couldn't agree with you more, regarding the GF 50th anniversary colour scheme. Probably one of the best which I have seen. I liked all four examples, designed by artist Naja Madhaowi. But here are my select few, hand picked which, are worth a mention.

My favorite special colour schemes are the "retro-jet" liveries of several airlines.

Of these, my favorite is Air Canada's A319-114, C-FZUH, in the Trans Canada Airlines bare metal livery of c. 1950:

To correct an error and omission in my post above... The colour scheme applied to A319-114, C-FZUH, of Air Canada is fashioned after the livery of Trans-Canada Air Lines as it appeared in 1937, the year the airline was established. The retrojet look is to commemorate Air Canada's 60th Anniversary in 1997. Trans-Canada Air Lines had its name changed to Air Canada in 1964.

Nalanji Dreaming is my favourite, who wouldnt prefer the reef (Nalanji) over the desert (Wunala).  Big grin
