I see on Flight Aware that DL008, a 777 from ATL to DXB of the 09Apr diverted to BGR at about 1:14am local time (10Apr) and then at approx 1:45am it carried on to DXB. According to the DL website it shows that from BGR the flight has carried on uninterrupted however according to the Flight Aware website it looks as though after leaving BGR the flight then stopped in YAY (St Anthony, Newfoundland). Anyone have more info on this??? Why was this aircraft diverted?

YAY as listed in the flight plan is the VOR waypoint at the airport. It is on the airways that planes use before starting across the North Atlantic on the NAT tracks. The plane did not stop there (the runway is less than 4,000 ft long - a bit short for a B777), only that it may have flown over the VOR as it resumed the flight.
