Over the last year or two, over the Easter period, LTN has seen significant increase in traffic between the airport and Israel, primarily to Tel Aviv.
With many pilgrims and families visiting Israel over this important religious festival for them...
I was just wanting to know what the schedule was looking like for this year, as last year we were seeing up to about 8 flights a day to Israel. I remember Jet2 were a big player operating numerous daily charters, also with Thomson flying and the usual easyJet flights.
But the news all us LTN Fanboys want to know is, will El-Al be operating increased frequencies from LTN to TLV and can we expect to see any wide bodied action, ideally the 777 making a visit, like last year off its short 7000ft runway?!

I believe that the LY 777 last year was actually in response to the Jewish holiday of Passover. Many Jews go to Israel for this holiday and there is generally a large uptick in LY and other flights to Tel Aviv in the week before and the week after Passover. (JFK sometimes sees up to 4 dailies in the days leading up to Passover. Not to mention the obscene ticket prices during this time period). Since this year Passover begins on Monday night April 18, the majority of these upgrade flights should happen before this and then again after passover is over around April 26. It happens that this year Easter Sunday falls right in the middle of passover. I doubt you will see a large LY aircraft actually next week which is on passover as much of the traveling is done before and after the holiday but not during.
