Don't know if this has been mentioned in another thread??
Nice to see all these new orders coming in...

Yohan Paul, a senior official at Jet Airways, told Aviation Week the company has approved acquiring two additional Boeing 777–300ER aircraft. The delivery would take place between February and April 2013. “We are also planning to induct four A330-family aircraft over the next two years,” Paul said.
In addition, Jet Airways has entered into a purchase agreement with Boeing to acquire 30 737-800s to be delivered by 2015 and 10 Boeing 787-8s to be delivered by 2014. “These are, however, subject to requisite regulatory approvals and firm dates from the manufacturer,” Paul said.

The 10 787s mentioned, are they the 10 they already have on order? Will we see a new delivery schedule announced similar to what KQ did earlier this week? Same for the 2 77Ws, are those the 2 on direct order with Boeing or are they close to being delivered?

Didn't Jet Airways lease their NEW B77W fleet to TK and TG...? If so I was under the impression this was due to the downturn in the Indian market...

The 4 on lease to Turkish Airways are due to return to Jet Airways later this year. According to the Boeing order books, they have 2 outstanding orders for new-build frames.
This would bring the active fleet up to 9, from the current 3.

One of 'their' A330s which had just been painted for lease to 9W has already been ferried for painting for another customer as Jet have decided not to take the frame.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Who is the lessor and who is the lessee?
Thanks

I am not sure. Skylines reported a few weeks ago that a pair of A330-200s had been painted into Jet colours and were parked in France somewhere wearing EI- registrations. Skyliner then reported a few days ago that one of them was not taken up and was ferried elsewhere for painting again.

I think UX is taking 1 of them.

I tend to believe that when they say "has approved acquiring two additional Boeing 777–300ER aircraft" these are probably the two that you note are already on order.
9W had ordered three 77Ws on 19-June-2010. One of those three was built and completed as cn 36563, ln 802 and painted in full 9W livery intended to be VT-JEL, but was not taken up by 9W. That frame went to Amiri flight of Abu Dhabi and was eventually registered as A6-SIL.
The remaining two 77Ws of the 19-June-2007 order were deferred indefinitely in 2009. So this news item is telling us that there is now an established delivery schedule (stated to be Feb and April 2013) for those two deferred frames.

Many thanks Westwing for the clarification on the 77W's. My question now is do we have 30 x 738s now pending for 9W or has the carrier not made any more statements other than the one referenced by the OP?

I heard that they had trouble getting enough qualified and experienced pilots to fly all those big aircraft more than there was a huge downturn in traffic.
