Avianca Applies For BOG-MCO Service

Aerovias del Continente Americano S.A (dba Avianca) today applied with the DOT to commence service between Bogota Colombia and Orlando Florida.

Avianca states it intends to offer 4x weekly service utizling A320 family aircraft commencing on or about July 12th 2011.

I want to say AV wanted to start this service, but B6 pre-emptively obtained rights and started service.

After so many years that was being asked by the big colombian community that lives in Orlando , and finally Av realize the potential market that they can get from MCO . Great for AV

Lol....Visited Orlando 2 weeks ago and yes the crowds to that particular new attraction at Universal was humongous. Great to see AV having plans to start 4x weekly BOG-MCO and great to see MCO attracting various new carriers from all over the globe. BW will be operating POS-MCO 2x weekly ( seasonally ) come summer as well. Way to go MCO.
