Good news. This will lead to less services to LIS ?

This is excellent news. It is about time that the Northern region of Portugal has a direct link to Angola.

I would assume so. They probably won't end up adding the extra 3 flights a week they usually operate during the summer months.

Excellent move by TAAG, and I look forward to seeing how successful they are at this route!

Yes they do. During high demand holiday seasons TP operates OPO-LAD once a week, IIRC.
There's a big difference in the market between OPO and LIS. While Lisbon is home to the headquarters for most of the companies doing business in Angola and therefore paying high fares, the Porto market is predominantly VFR traffic. Having said that, VFR traffic between Portugal and Angola is still relatively high yield traffic

I've heard that the first will be delivered in June and the 2nd in July. I have no clue what the chances are of this actually happening. Does anyone know if the 77Ws will be able to fly to Europe from the start considering TAAG's blacklist situation?

The 777's are exempt from the ban

http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/doc/list_en.pdf

Edit: TAAG is the last airline listed on the document, so scroll to the bottom of the document.

True, but it specifically lists the registered aircraft that are permitted into the EU so I don't know how it works if they acquire new planes. Hopefully TAAG can negotiate with the EU to fly the 77Ws to Europe from the start, since they are coming new from Boeing and all.

I believe they will use them to LIS, GRU and GIG.

My guess is they will be added (almost) immediately. If the current "new" planes are on the list, I cannot imagine why the really, really super brand new planes won't be added either.

True. I agree with you that being new frames, probably they will not face restrictions. The 2 77W can allow TAAG to offer more seats to LIS without the need to add frequencies.
In the other hand, we can expect new routes (such as LAD-OPO) to be added in the near future, in order to use the 772's that will become more available.
