Not sure why anyone would want to go to Melbourne, let alone a 744 full of people...
Most gorgeous aircraft: Tu-204-300, 757-200, A330-200, 777-200LR, 787-8

I suspect this was the first of many planes going in for maintenence work. We got AAR and another company in to work on these jets.
I saw the 744 parked over on the north side for a couple weeks.
I tried to find when this flew in, but it must have been blocked.

Hey, now...I'll admit it's not Miami, but a plane full of passengers from Russia landing in a city with plenty of beaches, hotels and restaurants...oh and warm weather? I would see no complaints. There is even a neat little Russian store on the old main street.
I've been going there for years to visit family and although it's a quiet town, not to bad if that's what you're looking for. On my way there in a couple of weeks, would be great to see the 744 there along with the regular CRJ's and ...wait...the MD80 from Delta.

This UN flight is not a charter.
It is supposed to be not seasonal. And not configured for 500++ pax.
The winter season is over. We have a warm nice spring here.
Time for Greece islands, Southern Turkey, Cyprus and Adriatic sea resorts.

Quoting Severnaya (Reply 9): It's a new aircraft for Transaero, it has nothing to do with passengers, it's just a delivery ferry flight to DME.
Its old operator was JAL which stored the aircraft at VCV. Is there perhaps a kind of maintenance base at MLB?
Yes. AAR and another company just moved in. Big news. Joins the Embraer facility.

This B747-400 was cleaned up, painted and modified for Transaero.
The next one is due in early June.
They are modifying 2 a/c a month for Transaero and who knows who else.
Mid Air is starting to build a new hanger/facility on the north side of KMLB in June or July.
It will hold 2 B747-400s and also will have a paint hanger built too (big enough for 1 B747-400)
