According to EK website, Effective 1st October EK will operate the A380 on it's EK 761/762 rotation. EK at the moment has 3 daily flights to JNB, all of them operated by a B77W.

Also from 1st October DXB - DUR is likely to go to double daily services.

Good news!

I noticed you said "at the moment". Actually, it's 2x daily by the 77W and 6x weekly by the 343 and 1x weekly by the 345. Per EK's timetable. However, it's 3x daily by the 77W from the 1st August.

Which will make it the 3rd airline to use the A380 to JNB. Not bad for a "3rd world" destination

This is a flight I've been expecting for a while. I thought we would see more Asia side feed 1st... But the upgauge makes sense to me.

Not bad...

Would a 4th DXB-JNB-DXB flight possibly work for EK?

Great news. If they dont change the equipment they are going to have four types flying to SA.
77W and 380 to JNB
77W and 345 to CPT
and the 332 to DUR.

I can only still see one flight DXB DUR I would think it would make more sense to change DXBDUR to a 77W if they need more capacity. Maybe they are still going to load the change?

It's not about capacity but more about feeding to the different banks at Dubai.

Nice, my 1st A380 flight is currently booked as an AF flight from JNB.
This may be because of the relatively restricted bilaterals from SA forcing carriers to add larger aircraft as they cannot add frequency.

Also how LHR gets so many, as slot restricted rather than bilateral restricted.

Flights booked: none :(

Are you looking at passenger loadings or cargo, or both?
