Af change the last month a few times the type of plane to Mex somebody knows why? Af fly the 772 than 772 and 773 and now the 772 and 747. There are only 10 747 passenger plane still in af fleet when do they left the fleet? 7 are very old and more 773 are coming any chance that in July or aogost they switch again from the 747 to the 773?

AF will withdraw 3 744s from its fleet, and thus will keep 7 744s until 2016. These a/c will be refurbished with new seats, lav, and galleys (the refurbishment has started), and the latest AVOD version;

Thank you for the info.
What are AF's plans for the MEX route in the future? Is it possible AM will upgrade its flights to 788 when the right time comes? AF codeshares on AM's flights, so that would represent a small increase in capacity. Will AF consider doing 7x weekly with A380 and 3 or 4x weekly with 77E or A343? What is your feeling?
Next flights: MEX-JFK-FCO AM 788/AZ 77E | DBV-BEG-BUD JU AT7/733 | BUD-AMS 738 | AMS-MEX 74M

MEX (along with LAX) is definitely on the short list for future AF's A380 destinations.
The question is : When ?
AF will receive its sixth A380 in the coming days and should not receive any more A380 this year.
JFK, YUL and IAD will remain served with the A380 by AF during the next winter 2011/2012.
The A380 could return to NRT (AF276/275) starting Sept. 2011 ... depending on the demand from the Japanese market ...
JNB is still scheduled with a Daily A380 but if the new nonstop CDG-CPT staring in October is successful, more frequencies could be added in a close future and JNB could return to a Daily B77W....
