Since I started this thread, I have had some time to lookat Bombardier's new website.

It is divided into:

RJ Pioneer - Showcasing that the CRJ as the RJ pioneer
Technology - Highlighting common engine, advanced technology, cockpit and aerodynamics.
Ecomonics- Highlighting that this thing beats competition in terms of cash operating cost.
Enviromnent - Basically saves the planet
Flexibility - Quoting range and andabtable modular interior.
Comfort - Touting the NG larger overheadbins, the larger windows and LED lighting.
Pre-Owned Aircraft - This focus on the possiblilty of turning the CRJ into a businesjet or a freighter.
Worldwide coverage - Focuses on worldwide operators.

So what do you think of their new site? I think it is a bit more informative than the previous site. Although I miss not finding the PDF with specification any more. BBD still uses differnt versions of the CRJ when comparing the CRJ to the competition. They are allowed to do so but it makes it harder to look at hard facts. Anyway, nice site that is recommended.

What I notice is that the CRJ1000ER now has 200 km more range than the CRJ900LR, which surprises me as the CRJ900LR originally started life with a 3,300 km range and is now 2,800 km, while the CRJ1000ER now has 3,000 km range.

IIRC both aircraft have identical fuel capacity but the CRJ1000ER is about 3 tonnes heavier at MTOW. Does that mean that the CRJ1000ER is considerably more fuel efficient than little sister 900LR?

I noticed that as well. Did they quote the CRJ900ER range instead of the LR to make the 1000 look better?

While they recently announced that the CRJ1000 had 4% lower fuel burn than anticipated and a 6% longer range, I did not expect it to beat the -900LR range. They have done something to the aerodynamics relative to the rest of the CRJ family, so overall the fuel efficiency is better.

On a side note, I just found out that the Q400 just was improved with a 2% better fuel burn at cruise, and will soon have 1,5% more cut. A good 3,5% fuelburn improvement.
