Is this a record for an A332?

The Chilean ash cloud has caused QF26 to avoid AKL and the aircraft VH-EBL, is flying direct LAX-SYD. Probably not many pax, but a few (otherwise the flight number would have been changed to the 6xxx series also the aircraft is arriving at the International terminal in SYD). The aircraft has just commenced descent.

The portion of the A332's payload-range curve limited by MTOW is unusually shallow because the aircraft has both a high MSP and high fuel capacity. An A332 with a partial payload can fly a *long* way. I'm not surprised they can do this as a one-off.
