I think that Air France is already a European Leader while Alitalia needs to improve on many things but they have the potential to be amongst the bests.
Of course it will be great to see the competition between the major European groups: AF/AZ, BA/IB, LH/SK

yes it will be great to see the competition between the major European groups, but I think AF/AZ have the best hubs situation, I mean CDG and FCO can grow a lot and also MXP can grow if a new runway will build. They also cover very well North-Middle-South Europe and Mediterannean. They need to grow only in the East Europe, but CSA can give them a valid help.

one srtike team lol! thats good.
i really have to laugh scabitalia and scare france joining together in unholy matrimony and seriously thinking they are going to be europes premier airline, with their level of service?
i think some people need to get their heads out of clouds, lufthansa and BA are far better in levels of service and services offered than AF can hope to be.
BA, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Iberia and likely Swissair and maybe LOT
Lufthansa,Austrian,Lauda,Teroylen,bmi and SAS(now taking braathens)
Air france, Alitalia , CSA.
there is no contest AF linked to ailitalia wont be better than lufthansa/austrian group, sas and bmi nor will it be better than one world. What with star investing at heathrow and one world having a hub there and what with more airlines, therefore more aiprorts i can hardly see CDG,FCO and MXP beating the other options.
oh im quaking in my one world boots!
af left it too late in the alliance race and has been playing catch-up ever since.
It is amazing what can be accomplised when nobody takes the credit
