If you look at the caption you will see that its betweeen DFW-SFO
How long did NWA fly this route? Was the 747 a scheduled aircraft for this route? Too bad they don't do it anymore

This is problably and error. The caption should most likely read "DTW-SFO" as in detroit as opposed to dallas.

NW flew this for almost a year. It was DFW-SFO-NRT-other Asian cities depending on the day. It was before AA flew DFW-NRT and at the same Thai was flying DFW-SEA-NRT-BKK.

It's no lie. I had a topic called, "Past international airlines at DFW" or it was something like that and I think it was Redraider that told me about the NW DFW-SFO-NRT and how Thai flew DC-10's to DFW before it got slots at LAX. We also had Air New Zealand who flew 747-200's too. This was back in the early 80's- early 90's. Air New Zealand flew here up to '92. Too bad none of these routes still exist.

Hello,

That's very interesting!

Would you have some additional, more precise information/dates about that please?

Thank you,

Best regards,
Alain Mengus

AFa340-300E- I am not sure, but the Thai and Air New Zealand flights were not daily but 3x weekly. Also, I am not sure if this is true, but Singapore Airlines operated out of DFW(not sure what route) before they got LAX slots. I think the equipment was a 742. None of these flights were daily. Most were 3-4 weekly flights and came in at night.

Adding on to the non-existing flights anymore at DFW, the SQ 742 was true. Also 747-200 FRA-DFW-MEX-DFW-FRA of LH and one time I saw a A310/A300 (cant remember) of them too here. Also Air Canada A319's, Hawaiian L1011, Sun Jet MD-80's, Mexicana 727's.. hope this helps

AA61hvy- Was LH ever big at DFW? When I was little, I think I remember seeing a few LH A310/A300's and 742s at gates. I think it was in the 1992-1994 range.
Does anyone know if LH has plans to reintroduce a 747 on DFW-FRA?

LH was fairly big at DFW it wasnt uncommon to see the 747 and A310/300 there.. I think I remember seeing them around the same time you saw them, too bad I was a little too young to spot
