During the holiday season, us flight attendants are crazy. We are usually asigned to only one plane for the month, but I have been serving the 777 DEN-IAD-LHE(London Heathrow) route. The 777 is really great. But now I am being assigned to the 757. I have flown, but never been a flight attendant on one. Has anyone else or does anyone else know how they are, even from a pasengers point of view?

i don't know about UAL's, but Eastern's were very nice from a passenger's view point. (At least I thought so) and EAL flight attendants loved them

How are you? I have flown on a Boeing 757 a few times on Northwest: ORD-DTW and MSP-PHL. In my opinion, the 757 is a very good aircraft. It's performance is very good-not to mention that it's safety record is currently one of the best. One aspect of the 757 that I enjoy is how much thrust the engines can create. I enjoy climbing at over 10 degrees after rotation.

In Orange County airport in CA, there are very strict noise abadement regulations. The 757 is one of the only jet's that can operate out of this airport because it is capable of climbing out extremely high and fast. I have heard it pitches for about 30 degrees. Does anyone know if this is true?

I feel that you will enjoy the 757 job. Good-luck!

I've been on 757s on Eastern, USAir, Northwest, and America West. They are like a 707 with only two engines. I really like them. I prefer the ones with door exits instead of overwing exits, because if you sit between the window exits and the rear of the plane, you are a long way from any exit. I'll be flying on my first United 757 on Christmas Day, Flight 135 from ORD to LAX. Maybe you will be working my flight.

I'm a Flight Attendant on 733,734,762,763 and until recently A300's. I had the opportunity to fly on the 757 during our pilot's dispute in 1989. The a/c was from Monarch (UK), it was a great a/c to work on - we had to make a few changes like move the two rear FA seats into the cabin as our Union won't allow us to sit in the galley opposite food carts (for safety reasons). It was well designed, equipped and easy to work on. The pax enjoyed flying on it too. I really enjoy the steep take-off roll which seems to be common with this type. Have fun during the holidays - I'm back to work soon!

No, I'm flying RIC-ORD-LAX. If I went through IAD, I'd have to fly on one of those toy airplanes from RIC-IAD (that's what I call those flimsy commuter planes), and I try to stick with full-size airliners. I'll be returning to Chicago on the 29th on one of your rarest birds, the DC-10. Probably my last chance. Have a good flight.

No, I'm returning on the 29th. But I'll be on another series of United flights when I fly to Singapore in April. Maybe one of them will be yours.

G'day FAUnited.
As lnterflug mention previously that Australia had B757's to help out with operations during our sad pilots dispute. l think from memorey there were 4 A/C in service for the short time. To help out Ansetts ops, we were using 2 off Air 2000 B757's. l had the chance to do some maintence on both of these A/C, and l found them to be one of Boeing best designs. lt was nice and easy to work on, it turned out to be a very safe and reliable A/C. l had the chance for the first time to fly on a UA 757 form SEA-LAX. My girlfriend who is also a flight attendent with AN, and it turned out to being her first 757 flight also, having missed out a chance to work on Air 2000's 757's. We both had a very good look around and agreed that the basic design was an excellent set-up. l,m sure you will enjoy the 757, and sorry to here that you have to work X-mas day. Have fun..

I do not have time to read all the posts but if this has already been posted I am sorry. But the 757 has the same center fusalage as the 707.

They are great to fly on. The quietest flight was on that I flew on a Delta flight from SLC to ANC. the plane was about half full and I was able to grab a whole row of seats on to take a nap.

From a ground service point of view they are kind of a pain. The wing is high enough off the ground that you don't have to really worry about hitting it but if you are trying to get to the fueling door you really need a large steplader.(The hydrant truck we had didn't have lifts on them) Also you need a beltloader to reach the cargo compartments if you have some late bags to load on, on a 737 or somthing lower to the ground all you have to do is open the door and thow the bags in.

The Prez of Boeing flew though our little corner of the world with a 757 about two years ago...heres a little trivia fact. The still height for the forward cabin door is the same of the 757 as it is on the IL-62
