Bombardier and Korean Air Lines just have announced a LOI for 10(+20) CS300's, as told by FlightGlobal.

As proposed by PanAm_DC10 this is now the discussion thread for that order.

PARIS -- Bombardier and Korean Air have signed a letter of intent for 10 CS300 aircraft, plus options for 10 more an 10 purchase rights.

Walter Cho, senior vice president of corporate strategy and planning division says Korean will receive its first six aircraft in 2015 and a further four in 2016.

The order is currently an LOI, but Cho expects the order to be firmed up within a month when the company's board approves the purchase.

Runway Girl, Mary Kirby, overheard Cho urging a representative from Delta Air Lines, a fellow Skyteam alliance member, to order the CSeries.

As I type this a group from Delta is being given a tour of the CSeries mock up.

During the press conference, a senior Bombardier executive whispered to me, "This is the tipping point."

Never ask somebody if he's a pilot. If he is, he will let you know soon enough!

A DL order really would not surprise me. They have a ton of routes the C Series would be perfect for.

I'd probably have more to say on the matter but I keep getting distracted by the KE render.

It would be nice if Delta ordered the Cseries. IMO it can complement any 737NG or A320 family well.

Again - Congratulations to Korean and Bombardier!

Congrats to KE and Bombardier, this is an important order. I'm sure we'll be seeing this aircraft type on domestic Korea, regionally to Japan and China and thinner routes such as PUS/CJU China/Japan flights as well.

Gorgeous plane!

Interesting move, and certainly comes as a big surprise as their smallest aircraft is currently the 738. Its not like they have the smaller variants to replace, though they did used to have the F100 of course. Which really begs the question how they will be used, which I guess is somewhat answered by this

None the less, quite a surprise from an airline with smallest aircraft C8/Y156, 739's and AB6's (they still have those?)
