During the past year or two, Air Canada has started and then stopped a number of routes. They've even announced new routes but then shelved them before the inaugural flight. Of course, the rationalization during the Canadian merger as well as the downturn in the economy has a lot to do with this. Can anyone add to the list.........here's a few.......which ones do you think will return soon?

YVR-Spokane
YEG-Chicago
YEG-YUL
YYC-SJC
YWG-DEN
YOW-SJC
YYZ-ONT
YYZ-Austin, TX

Once the economy turns around, I think that YOW-SJC service may start up again.

Yes, the Nerd Bird was Ottawa to San Jose. I beleive they used an A319, but I could be wrong.

Yes I think the YOW-SJC did fly for a few weeks. Wasn't YOW-Raleigh/Durham cut as well.......Nerd Bird 2?
YYC-London, Ontario was axed recently too.

I remember signs all over the airport lamp posts outside at SJC proclaiming the new service to Ottawa.

YXU-YYC is a summer service only as far as I know. But YYZ-AMS is another one that only lasted a few months, I guess it was hard for them to get into KLM, Canada 3000 and Air Transat market.

It was recently announced that London Ont. to Calgary/Vancouver is to cancel services a week before the Summer Games (Aug 19?). I know this because I just flew on the route and heard all about it.
On a side note, I wouldn't be suprised with Calgary to Abbotsford being cut for load factors on that route are horrible (20-50%).
