Im guessing that there hasnt been any major announcement at Paris yet from Boeing RE: 797 or 737NEO/RS..right? If there had been Im sure it would be topic #1. Since we were all speculating that Boeing would announce something at Paris and Boeing even said as much, what do you all think? Are they waiting till the last second to go out with a bang or are they just banking on orders for 747-8s and 787s at Paris rather than a big announcement on a new narrowbody? What does this say if there is nothing from Boeing during Paris?
I think the fact they announced quite a few orders for 737NGs from Miat, ALC, Malaysian, UTAir, and Norwegian AIr Shuttle along with the announcements about partnering with American to improve eco efficiency and the fact that they are promising a 2% fuel burn improvement using enhancements that are being test on a brand new United 737 is a sign that they are still going after 737NG orders.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

What? Airshow announcements are industry penis waving as much as anything. The money is just as green no matter when the orders are made or announced.

No we weren't. We knew they were not going to announce anything.
Correct. Even a little bit of research would have told you that Boeing are planning to make a decision on 737 re-engining v NSA(New Small Airplane) in the next 6-9 months(late this year or early 2012).
