Any word if these flights are coordinated with PK? Any new information regarding the TK-PK agreement? I remember reading PK wanted to expand into other US cities such as IAH and do that with the help of TK. Still any truth to that?

No it is not related with the agreement, the agreement is not signed due to the strikes at PK side. According to the agreement east bound flights like DAC will be operated by PK. KHI - DAC flights operated with 5th Traffic Right by TK

I don't quite understand why TK has opted for this schedule. It doesn't offer good connections with MAN, BHX or LHR.

Does India still consider Dhaka to be part of Pakistan?

That is mostly because of the days of operation, as and when MAN, BHX go double daily the connections will fall in place. As of now, the connections to the USA and Canada have taken priority over UK.

You may want to have a second look at what I posted, TK has 11 weekly flights out of Pakistan in total of which 7 are headed to IST and 4 are headed to DAC. I hope I'm clear with that.

I interpreted what you wrote in the same way at first glance, and had a quiet chuckle to myself.

So you are saying that there are 4 flights per week that fly FROM Pakistan TO Dhaka in Bangladesh as opposed to IST? What are the complete routes of those 4 flights, do you know?

IST - ISB and v.v 3 times per week
IST- KHI - DAC and v.v 4 times per week with rights between KHI and DAC. So technically there will be 8 departures out of KHI in a week.

What aircraft is used to DAC?

Incidentally with this expansion in South Asia, any potential new KTM service?

A332/A343 mix.

I was thinking about that as well, IMO TK should operate a terminator to KHI and do IST-KTM-DAC as a triangular service or something like that.

vice-versa

I really hope DAC gets its own daily TK service soon ... we need good connections to Europe and USA. EK, QR, and now EY are making a killing in these routes!

Anyone know how the IST-DAC loads are?

BTW, ojas ... I chuckled at that sentence too. But I knew what you meant!

Especially, no one from India would make that mistake ...

DAC and ISB are planned to go with dedicated A 332s in the future served nonstop. When this happens, KHI will revert back to the B 738.

ISB was chosen because of more O&D pax bound to IST + more premium pax with a lot of Western diplomatic staff based in ISB being STAR members and flying J class!
