Hi all. I started a new Swiss Aviation Thread. The recent one seems to be disappeared. I even did not find it with the "search" tool. I only found # 25 which DALCE began in Oct 2010, but this is not the newest? Can anyone help? If I made a mistake, this thread can be deleted. Which number should this one have?

I love the way Edelweiss is doing their job nowadays.
They give us some nice new markets to explore cargo-wise too

SkyWork is launching flights from Bern to Belgrade in November. The city is part of their major expansion plan. They will operate the route twice per week unsing their Dash-8. Retrun ticket is €118!

Actually the Serbian ministry of health has a deal with a hospital in Geneva to send patients who need heart surgeries there. Until now they were using Zurich but I kindly proposed them this line and they loved it. Not to mention that it's much cheaper and closer to Geneva!

For a short time only, LX has reactived HB-IQC. But HB-IQH and HB-IQQ were no more in operation and destinated for Air Berlin as D-ABXA and D-ABXB.

So HB-IQA (the oldest ex. SR A330s) is the only A330-200 left in operation with LX.

I noted the following incident dated July 4 in the Transport Canada daily incident summary, involving what I thought was an Edelweiss-operated seasonal service ZRH-YXY (Whitehorse, Yukon)-ANC-ZRH. Can anyone explain why they refer to Swiss as the operating carrier rather than Edelweiss? I'm wondering whether an LX A332 may have in fact been substituted for the usual Edelweiss aircraft? Otherwise, at least for operational purposes, I would have expected to see an Edelweiss flight number. Perhaps someone can tell what aircraft actually operated the flight. In either case, the crew had probably never been to YXY before.

Whitehorse Tower reported that SWR8944, an Airbus 330-200, operated by Swiss International Air Lines, bound for Anchorage, was taxiing for departure off runway 13R. The aircraft was instructed to taxi via runway 01 and to contact the tower. The aircraft failed to contact the tower and crossed the hold line for runway 13R. Both tower and ground attempted to contact the aircraft, but neither received a response until the aircraft had taxied fully across runway 13R to an area with no turnaround space. Runway 13R was closed at 1943z due to the location of SWR8944. The aircraft was pushed back and was ready for taxi again at 2006z. SWR8944 departed runway 13R at 2011z.

It was mentioned in the previous thread. I'm not sure if we will see increases as also Edelweiss serves Colombo and Male with two flights per week. But it's certainly good to get some more diversity to ZRH, first Hainan and now also Oman Air and Sri Lankan.

Not gonna happen imo. First up would be flights to MUC considering the bigger connection network available there. Consider also that the route to TAMs hub GRU is already well served through LX.

The airlines really missing at ZRH are Middle Eastern and Maghreb carriers such as RAM, Air Algerie, MEA or EgyptAir. Now these would be some welcome additions.

There was also the rumour about CX returning to ZRH at one time.

In the LH "Geschäftsbericht" they say that SWISS has 13 A 340 and 16 A 330. I think the A 330 numbers are correct with five new 333 next year (incl 1 EDW). But I always thought that LX flies 15 A 343. Or will two be phased out?

There are 2 A340 in the column of OS with the footnote that these a/c are with LX. So the number of 15 is correct.
