I was wondering, Kenya Airways has been a full-fledged SkyTeam member for over a year now, and they still haven't yet introduced a SkyTeam livery aircraft. Initially it was supposed to be a 763ER, then changed to a 738. However, nothing has happened as of yet. Yet the newest SkyTeam member China Eastern introduced their SkyTeam A346 right when they joined.
Is there any reason why it seems Kenya Airways doesn't seem to care about having a SkyTeam livery?

I suspect they had planned for a 787 to be painted out of the factory as such, but as you know keeps getting delayed. Originally deliveries of the first two scheduled for October 2010 and four more deliveries slated for 2011, now the first are Q4 2013.
One may also have to take into account that KQ have a much smaller fleet with less slack in the rope than some of the other carriers. Aircraft may only get a major paintjob like that when they come up for a majpr check. KQ may still be undecided as to which aircraft type would fit the bill best, and they may not be painting it themselves, an aircraft out of the loop - potentially at an airport they may not fly to is potentially not an option if they are short of aircraft or have little buffer time in their fleet maintenance schedule for frivolities like special liveries.
There's any number of scenarios that may or may not contribute.

They will do as soon as they send a plane to a "C" check, but actually the schedule they have for the planes is very very short, they used to have a spare B767 but now they upgrade Rome to B767 again.
I also ask in NBO and they told me that they are about to order more E-190, so why not one of them fresh for the factory??? I´m sure they want to make some publicity with the new B787 so painting them in Skyteam colours it´s not the best for that.
