I was wondering what the line was in the MD-80 model for cockpits. I tried to see this thru photos, but it didnt help. I have seen three types of cockpits: an analogue version, like the DC-9 but without the bowtie, a version with the glass attitude and HSI, but analog engine gauges (like the Boeing 737-300) and with electric engine gauges (like the Boeing 737-400-500.) What model of MD-80 (80,81,82,83,87,88,90) drew the line between these different cockpits installed?

Thanks a lot

It depends on the airline as much as the model. All -90s have the full EFIS including engine instruments, along with the -88s. The Dc-9s are all analogue displays. Some -82 are partial EFIS and full analogue. AA has a few of each, most have the EFIS and analogue engine displays. All -83s have the EFIS with some having the engine instruments as well. Sorry no idea on the -87s but will guess its the same as the -88. Could be wrong, this is just what I've seen though.
