Odd CO Flight #1991 EWR-SJC

Was looking at Flight Aware and saw a Continental Arrival from EWR, thought it was a divert from SFO, but a little digging around on CO's website showed it was an actual revenue flight from EWR-SJC. It looks like the A/C is going to ferry back to SFO.

I should add that CO no longer flies EWR-SJC...so it's not a regular flight.

Does anyone know if it was a schedule extra section or something? Just curious. Thanks!

CO's 19xx series flights are charters.

CO maintenance flights are 99XX flight numbers.

I was on a ferry flight from MCO to IAH last year (I was the only pax as a non-rev) on ship #712 and it was a 19XX number.
